My Story
I haven’t always been into fitness. But I discovered the healing effects of working out, and now I want to share that magic with you.

I have danced all my life, since the age of 2. This experience has shaped me in many positive ways, but unfortunately the environment can be very aesthetic focussed. I was always aware of my weight, I was never the largest girl in the class but I was far from the smallest too. Even for myself, as an average teenager, I found all conversations around weight difficult and became very self-conscious of how I looked.

When the time came for me to pack up and go to university, I set off with good intentions and high hopes for the future. After a few months of binge drinking and eating convenience food, I gained the “freshman 15” for sure. I was in the dance society and starting to do quite well at competitions. This drew more attention to my size and I couldn’t take it anymore. I signed up for the gym.

I had no idea what I was doing, everything looked terrifying and the few male friends that were kind enough to take me were not encouraging or helpful at all. I ran for hours on the treadmill, bored and punishing myself. I saw results, this urged me to take things further. I slashed calorie intake. I had no energy, I was tired all the time, and injuries were popping up all over the place.

Thankfully, I found YouTube and Instagram accounts that talked about strength training, working out to feel good rather than look good. I started gaining the confidence to try new exercises. Now, I am addicted to moving my body in the ways that feel good and I think are fun. Now, I have found joy in working out to feel good and it has carried me through many difficult times.

My fitness journey has had ups and downs. It has been tough and I have made many mistakes. Let me guide you so you don’t make the same mistakes as me. Let’s jump straight to the good bit and feel strong and happy together.
